Making Decisions

To establish new shelter programs I would use a systematic approach to decision-making based on the most current shelter data to solve the problem of determining a community outreach program. By reviewing the current data, it should be able to identify problems in specific communities. The data should also determine if the program needs to focus on dogs, cats, or both. My dec

ision-making styles are more intuitive, spontaneous, and dependent so this way of making decisions would be challenging for me. I would also utilize a team to tackle this issue hoping to avoid oversite and develop "Synergy" within the group. I love "Synergy"! It is the interaction or cooperation of two or more to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. I love when a group of motivated individuals gets together to brainstorm ideas. I feel that in this situation great things out of the ordinary happen. The bias that might affect this situation is availability bias. I think this would fall into the category that we have always done it that way mentality. It might be hard to look around the idea of the "it's always been done that way" mentality. When groups collaborate and come up with out-of-the-ordinary ideas. Many people just can't see out of the usual box. When "Synergy" is there it forces people to get out of their comfort zone or "Box"
